We carry out tests over an output range from a few watts to 250 kW (full-size automotive stacks and systems). Our test engineers and scientists have many years of experience with fuel cell tests. They have already tested many hundreds of stacks and know “their” test benches inside-out.
All test benches are calibrated in full before testing starts, and again during tests if necessary. Dedicated calibration standards are used. On request, calibration can be verified on-site for performance in accordance with normative documents and regulations by an Approved Supervisory Authority such as TÜV.
The test center has over 50 test benches providing optimum media supply for fuel cell stacks, systems and system components. The laboratory area was expanded to around 3,000 square meters in 2021 with the HyFaB project. The fully automated test benches operate unattended 24/7.
The increasing market maturity of fuel cells has led to internationally applicable standardisation of test conditions. The DIN EN 62282-2 standard covers all safety-relevant tests for fuel cell stacks and modules that provide the basis for certifying market entries.
Since 2012, all tests can be conducted in accordance with DIN EN 62282-2 for fuel cells up to 100 kW using our fuel cell test field. Accelerated ageing tests in accordance with DoE (U.S. Department of Energy) or proprietary definitions for a better understanding and evaluation of ageing processes.
Our in-depth evaluations help our customers understand their products better and to optimise and develop these products or verify their safety – with external certification available on request. If required, the evaluations are supported with accompanying simulations or in-situ or post-mortem analyses with a comprehensive range of equipment.
We test for a range of industrial customers. We can reliably guarantee the confidentiality of sensitive measurement data.
