// Preparation of thin films

Several of the coating plants for mid-size substrate areas which are in operation at ZSW for the development of CIGS solar module technology are also suitable for other coating functions. Thin contact and antireflection films are, for example, used in other (thin-film) solar cells, for thermal insulation coatings, in flat panel displays (FPD), and in organic light-emitting diodes (OLED). Electrically insulating layers and diffusion barriers are of particular interest for devices on metallic and flexible substrates.

We offer the deposition of (transparent) conductive films, barrier films, and film layer systems on customer-specified substrates up to 30 cm x 40 cm, prepare complete solar cells on their basis and, if desired, characterise them.

Equipment

  • In-line sputtering systems for substrates up to 30 x 30 cm2
  • Experimental plants for sputtering, evaporation, and plasma CVD for substrates up to 10 x 10 cm2
