In the materials research area, the ZSW team’s long-standing experience in developing CIGS thin-film solar cells and modules is also being leveraged for industrial services: on behalf of customers, we deposit electrical contact layers and carry out diverse analyses, in particular electrically and optically characterise cells and modules. The PV system engineers analyse the quality and stability of solar power modules (in the Solab module test lab and at the Widderstall test facility), and model and calculate the optimised use of solar power in the energy supply system. ZSW's portfolio also includes due diligences for large-scale PV plants and photovoltaic production facilities on behalf of financing banks, project developers and operators.
