ZSW is one of Europe's leading research institutes in the photovoltaic sector. The photovoltaic experts are working in numerous research projects funded by the federal state, German government, EU and/or industrial partners in order to improve not only materials, processes and efficiencies for solar cells and modules but also the performance capability and long-term stability of PV modules and systems. PV storage systems that optimise the self-consumption of solar power and strategies for the grid-friendly operation of PV systems in the smart grid are the subject of further projects.
